Volkswagen AG's Lamborghini supercar unit has again delayed plans to introduce its first crossover vehicle.

VW management board member Rupert Stadler tells Reuters that the vehicle, which was unveiled as the Urus concept three years ago in Beijing, still has not been approved by the board. The concept is a four-passenger, all-wheel-drive performance vehicle propelled by a 600-hp engine.

Stadler expects a decision on the Urus later this year. In the meantime, he tells Reuters, the company must "do some more homework" on cost and price.

The would-be Lambo has been tentatively scheduled to go into production in 2017. Last spring Automobilwoche cited unnamed sources who said the vehicle would be produced in Bratislava, Slovakia, and ride on the same platform that carries the next-generation Audi Q7 crossover and Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg SUVs.
