As expected, Volkswagen group's Lamborghini unit has confirmed it will assemble the upcoming Urus SUV/crossover at its factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

The ultra-high-performance luxury vehicle will go on sale in 2018. Lamborghini has not yet announce specifications for the car, which is likely to be priced at about €180,000. The company said earlier it is targeting a powertrain capable of delivering about 600 hp.

Lamborghini plans to expand the Sant'Agata plant to 150,000 square meters from the current 80,000 square meters. The company predicts annual sales of 3,000 Urus models per year, which would double the brand's current volume.
