Volkswagen AG's Lamborghini unit will take the wraps off a roadster version of its Huracan supercar at next year's Geneva auto show, unnamed sources tell Motor Trend.

The new Lambo drop-top likely will be powered by the same 5.2-liter V-10 engine that powers the $237,000 Huracan coupe, which achieves 602 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. But MT notes that the roadster's increased weight likely will slow down 0-62 mph acceleration somewhat from the coupe's 2.8 second time.

A separate MT report says Lamborghini also has developed an unnamed, ultra-exclusive model that it will show to a group of high-end collectors at next month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event in California.

Production of the so-called "hyper" car will be limited to 20 coupes and 10 roadsters, MT says. Based on the Aventador SV LP750-4, the new Lambo will get a more aerodynamic design and increase the output of that car's 6.5-liter V-12 by 8% to about 800 hp, according to the report.

Pricing is expected to start at about $2 million, which would put the hyper car just above the $1.5 million Lamborghini Reventon but below the $4.5 million Veneno. Production of those models was limited to 36 and 13 units, respectively.
