The head of Audi AG’s works council grouses that the company is losing factory jobs in Germany because of the lack of a coherent product strategy.
Peter Mosch tells 8,000 workers in Ingolstadt that Audi’s strategy is “not discernible” at a time when it should be making key decisions about its future production plans. He repeats his demand that future models be assigned to Audi plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm.
Reuters says Bernd Martens, who heads procurement at Audi, told the meeting that the company intends to add hybrid and all-electric models at both factories.
Mosch’s alarm about production has been fueled by Audi’s decision to produce all-electric SUV/crossovers and Sportback 5-door hatches in Brussels and two conventionally powered crossovers in Hungary and Slovakia.
