South Korea's Mando Corp., which earlier this month bought as much as 8.1% of Halla Climate Control Corp., says it may pursue the acquisition of Visteon Corp.'s 70% stake in Halla. Mando says it plans to hire an advisor on that strategy.
The company bought its Halla shares from Korea's National Pension Service, which in July thwarted Visteon's $805 million hostile attempt to buy the 30% of Halla it didn't already own. Analysts predicted Mando would seek Visteon's stake in Halla, all of the U.S. supplier's climate control operations or even all of Visteon.
