Kia Motors Corp. says its 2017 Rio small car will be longer and wider than the outgoing model.

The company released sketches of the five-door hatchback version of the vehicle this week ahead of its public introduction at next month’s Paris auto show. The fourth-generation hatchback will be launched later this year, with the sedan variant expected in early 2017.

The new Rio incorporates Kia’s latest design language, with an updated version of the company’s thin “tiger nose” grille and swept-back headlights. Other features include a rakish windshield, taller C-pillar and angular LED taillights.

The interior has a clean design with a flowing dashboard and sweeping lines. A large touchscreen highlights the center console.
