Jaguar Land Rover Ltd., which intends to expand production, now favors doing so in Europe but not the U.K. rather than the U.S., reports the Birmingham Post.
The British newspaper cites unnamed sources at the company who say JLR does not favor adding capacity at its three British factories because of relatively high labor costs there. The Post says JLR currently prefers such locations as Austria and Turkey for an additional facility.
JLR opened an assembly plant in China five months ago and plans to do the same in Brazil in 2016. The company is targeting sales of more than 500,000 units in 2015, up 8% from last year.
