Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency has fined Mitsubishi Motors Corp. 480 million yen ($4.2 million) for false claims about the fuel efficiency of vehicles it supplied to Nissan Motor Co and also sold under its own brand.

The fine covers MMC’s Outlander SUV and the Mitsubishi eK wagon and Nissan Dayz variant. The agency says the carmaker claimed “markedly” better fuel economy than the models actually delivered.

MMC admitted last April that it had manipulated fuel economy data on some of its models for 25 years.
