Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. is recalling nearly 7,000 of its 2013-2015 model Jaguar XF sport sedans in the U.S. to fix a loose engine pulley. The flaw can disable the vehicle’s power steering, battery charging, air conditioning and engine cooling.
The campaign involves only XF models equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel. JLR says a bolt that secures the engine’s idler pulley may loosen or break off. If that occurs, the pulley becomes ineffective and could fall off the engine.
JLR plans in May to begin a recall in which dealers will replace the entire pulley assembly
