Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. will roll out its first Jaguar crossover vehicle, the all-wheel-drive F-Pace, in 2016.
Jaguar's C-X17 crossover concept
The compact, which had been expected sometime this year, will compete with such rivals as the Audi X5 and BMW X3.
JLR promises the F-Pace will deliver class-leading interior roominess, sports car handling and a bevy of innovations. The crossover will ride on the same platform that carries the Jaguar XE sedan due in Europe in May and the U.S. about a year later.
The F-Pace is likely to resemble the C-X17 concept Jaguar unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show in 2013. Jaguar says it will release more details about the car later this year.
