China's Jianghuai Automobile Co. (JAC) will introduce a midsize crossover/SUV concept later this month at the Beijing auto show.

The carmaker unveiled a teaser image of the vehicle, dubbed the SC5, this week. JAC describes the concept as a near-production model it plans to launch in China next year.

Styling cues include muscular fenders and squared-off side profile. The SC5’s grille and LED headlight design is similar to Lexus’ spindle design, several media reports point out.

Although the concept model may be shown with a hybrid powertrain, reports say the production version is likely to offer a choice between two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines.
