Infiniti to Present Fastback Concept

Nissan Motor Co.'s Infiniti brand will use next week's Paris auto show to introduce the Q80 Inspiration, a luxury four-seater design exercise with a fastback roofline, 22-inch wheels and no exterior mirrors.

The company posted an image of the car on Tuesday and declared the sleek four-door signals the brand's "clear intent" to introduce a model for the premium fastback segment. Rivals in that sector would include the Audi A7 Sportback and BMW 5 Series GT.

The concept sits on a 122-inch wheelbase and measures just over 16.5 feet long, 6.7 feet wide and 4.4 feet tall.

The car is equipped with an all-glass roof, rear-hinged rear doors and a highly stylized interior. Infiniti says the concept is envisioned for a high-output hybrid powertrain, adaptive suspension system and numerous other high-tech features.
