Stant Corp. is opening a technical center in Rochester Hills, Mich. The Connersville, Ind.-based supplier of fuel vapor and thermal management products plans to employ more than 75 people at the center, which will include testing equipment and labs.

The new facility will occupy most of a 53,000-sq-ft building previously used by Magna International Inc.'s Magna E-Car Systems venture for hybrid- and all-electric vehicle technologies.

Stant also plans to close its Romeo, Mich., factory later this year. Some engineering and administrative personnel at the plant will move to the Rochester Hills tech center. The production of filler tubes that had been done in Romeo will shift to Stant's Connersville facility.
