India’s Precision Camshafts Ltd. (PCL) has acquired a 51% stake in Emoss Mobile Systems BV, a Dutch maker of electric driveline systems for commercial vehicles.

India’s Precision Camshafts Ltd. (PCL) has acquired a 51% stake in Emoss Mobile Systems BV, a Dutch maker of electric driveline systems for commercial vehicles.

The €7.4 million purchase gives Precision Camshafts access to Emoss’ integrated electric drivelines for trucks and buses with capacities as great as 50 tons. The Oosterhout-based company also markets modular kits that enable operators to retrofit their piston-powered vehicles with electrified propulsion systems.

Emoss systems boast an electric range of 350 km (217 miles) per charge. PCL figures it can leverage the company’s €6 million ($7 million) in sales last year to five times that volume in four years.

PLC supplies more than 150 varieties of camshafts for passenger vehicles, tractors, light commercial vehicles and locomotives. Its automotive customers include Ford, Daimler, General Motors Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Porsche and Toyota.
