Hyundai Motor Co.’s new “N” performance division is launching a line of customized parts and a new trim line.

The so-called N Option, which will be available across Hyundai’s lineup, is expected to start with upgraded wheels, aerodynamic enhancements and unique badging. More extensive N line trim packages will be available on select models.

Hyundai also plans to expand its line of N-badged models, which debuted last year with the i30 N small car. In addition to the upcoming N Veloster sports coupe, the company reportedly is considering an N version of the Kona crossover vehicle and a stand-alone sports car based on the 2014 Veloster Midship concept.

Thomas Schemera, who heads Hyundai’s high-performance vehicle and motorsports operations, says the company may have to increase production of the i30 N to keep pace with demand. Hyundai hired Schemera, who previously led BMW AG’s M performance unit in the Americas, earlier this year.
