Hyundai Motor Co. is teaming up with California-based tuner John Pangilinan on a modified Tucson SUV that will be publicly unveiled at next month’s Specialty Equipment Market Assn. show in Las Vegas.

Designed for campers, the Tucson Adventuremobile features a roof-mounted tent that can sleep two people. The high-end tent is fitted with dual skylights and a solar panel to power various accessories.

To bolster its off-road capabilities, the new concept vehicle gets all-terrain Toyo tires, RAYS Gram Lights 57DR wheels and an Aries “bull bar” grille guard. A 1.5-inch custom suspension lift system increases ground clearance.

Hyundai didn't release details about the engine. But the company says performance is optimized with an AEM intake unit, charge pipe kit and Magnaflow exhaust system. Other goodies include side steps, an LED light bar and Wilwood brakes with army green calipers.

The interior features upgraded leather upholstery, a battery charger, additional sound-deadening material, LED ambient lighting and a customized audio system. There’s also a trunk vault for additional storage.
