Hyundai Motor Co.’s all-new Venue compact crossover will incorporate the carmaker’s latest design language and feature a relatively spartan interior.

The 2020 model will be unveiled at next week’s New York auto show. Sales are expected to begin this summer with a starting price of about $18,000.

The entry-level Venue will be positioned below the Kona in Hyundai’s growing crossover lineup. Styling cues borrow heavily from the larger Santa Fe and upcoming Palisade, but with sharper edges.

The interior is highlighted by an uncluttered dashboard with a medium-sized touchscreen infotainment center flanked by a pair of air vents. Hyundai says the Venue also will get smartphone integration and other connectivity and safety features.

Hyundai announced the oddly named vehicle last month.
