It’s the first time the two brands have generated a double-digit gain in monthly sales since December 2014, The Korea Herald reports.
Deliveries in China, where Hyundai-Kia sales doubled to 103,100 units, led April’s growth. The companies are targeting combined volume of 1.3 million units in China this year.
In 2017, Hyundai-Kia missed their annual global sales target for the third consecutive year. The companies sold 7.25 million units against a goal of 8.25 million. The carmakers are aiming for combined sales of 7.55 million vehicles in 2018.
