Hyundai Motor Co. has launched a new Virtual Guide application to replace traditional ink-on-paper owner’s manuals.

The new app, which can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the Apple App store, initially is available for the 2015 Sonata midsize car. Hyundai, which claims to be the first major carmaker to offer a paperless owner’s manual, plans to eventually expand the service across its vehicle lineup.

In addition to information about a vehicle’s features and functions, the new app provides maintenance and repair tips. It also includes 82 how-to videos and has six 3-D overlay images that motorists can use to help identify and learn more about their vehicles' components.
