Honda Motor Co. will stop U.S. output of its slow-selling Accord midsize sedan for two weeks over the next four months.
Honda plans to cut two days of production per month in April-June and extend its normal July shutdown by five days, Automotive News reports. The newspaper says U.S. dealer inventories of unsold Accords have ballooned to 104 days, more than twice the company’s typical supply.
The company says workers have the option of doing non-production work or taking the 11 days off.
