Honda Motor Co. plans to recall 220,000 CR-V small crossovers in Europe and 268,700 of the vehicles in the U.S. to replace a power window switch that could short circuit and cause a fire.
Both campaigns involve two- and four-wheel-drive models from the 2002-2006 model years.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the master power window switch in the driver's door could fail if exposed to water or other fluids that enter through the driver's open window. The switch can overheat, melt, damage the switch's wiring harness and smoke or cause a fire.
