Honda Motor Co. predicts it will sell a record 5.2 million vehicles in the fiscal year that begins April 1, the Nikkei reports, citing company notices to its suppliers. The total compares with an expected 4.8 million sales, up 10%, in the current fiscal year.

Honda set volume records in North America and China in calendar 2015, the newspaper notes. The company says gains in the new year will come through further growth in North America, new products, the launch of locally produced Acura luxury brand cars in China and the Chinese government’s continuing tax break on small cars.

Honda is preparing to introduce a subcompact crossover vehicle in China under the Acura brand, Reuters says. It notes that Honda sold only about 4,000 Acura vehicles, all of them imported, in China in 2015.
