Honda Motor Co. says this month’s expanded U.S. recall to replace airbag inflators supplied by Takata Corp. will target two-stage drive-side devices in more than 2.2 million of its vehicles.

The company plans to notify customers in March. But it does not expect to have enough replacement inflators to begin the recall until autumn.

Affected models include:

  • 2007-2011 CR-V small crossovers
  • 2011-2015 CR-Z sport coupes
  • 2010-2014 FCX Clarity fuel-cell sedans
  • 2010-2014 Insight hybrid sedans
  • 2009-2013 Fit mini-hatchbacks
  • 2013-2014 Fit electric cars
  • 2007-2014 Ridgeline pickup trucks
  • 2013-2016 Acura ILX sport sedans, including 2013-1014 hybrids
  • 2007-2016 Acura RDX crossovers
  • 2005-2012 Acura RL large sedans
  • 2009-2014 Acura TL midsize sedans
  • 2010-2013 Acura ZDX midsize crossovers

The Honda models are among 5 million vehicles made by eight manufacturers identified last month by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as containing flawed inflators that could explode. A dozen carmakers already are replacing 23 million driver- and passenger-side Takata inflators in the U.S.
