Honda Motor Co. has confirmed that an exploding Takata Corp. airbag inflator killed a Louisiana woman in April. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration concurs the device was at fault.

The incident brings to seven the number of confirmed fatalities linked to the defective inflators. All seven cases involve Honda vehicles in hot and humid climates. Six of the incidents occurred in the U.S.

Honda and 10 other vehicle manufacturers are taking steps to recall some 34 million defective inflators in the U.S. that Takata says could misfire.
