Honda Motor Co. will show a new concept vehicle at next month's Frankfurt auto show that was jointly designed by its motorcycle and car studios in Japan. Dubbed the "Project 2 & 4" model, the vehicle will feature a cabinless design and prominent front air intake.
Honda released a tightly cropped and baffling teaser image of the vehicle, which it says will combine the freedom of a motorcycle with the maneuverability of a car.
The image reveals a color scheme similar to Honda's 1960s-era Formula 1 cars. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the carmaker's first F1 victory. Honda rejoined the sport in 2015 after a 7-year hiatus, supplying engines and kinetic energy recovery systems to the McLaren team.
Media reports speculate the vehicle's layout will position a single seat and engine side by side.
