Honda Motor Co. says it will spend $170 million to add a fourth engine line at a factory in Anna, Ohio, thus creating 200 jobs.
The company also plans to invest $50 million at a nearby transmission plant in Russells Point, Ohio. The project aims to make the facility more flexible and increase its ability to make advanced transmissions and powertrain components, according to Honda.
The Ohio powertrain investments are the final pieces of the $1.2 billion U.S. spending program the company unveiled in 2010. Honda's latest announcement was timed to commemorate its 30th anniversary of auto production in America.
