Hertz Adds Z06 ‘Vette to Rental Fleet

Rental car giant Hertz Corp. is revving up its 100th anniversary celebration by adding 100 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sports cars to its fleet.

The high-powered ‘Vettes will be available in 14 cities. Prices vary by location and day of week, starting at $199 per day without taxes or insurance.

Mileage is capped at 75 miles per day, with overages adding 75 cents per mile.

The special-edition models will feature a yellow paint job with black stripes to match Hertz’s color scheme. The interiors sport black leather seats with yellow contrast stitching, plus commemorative badging.

The rental vehicles get the same supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that cranks out 650 hp and a like amount of torque in other Z06 ‘Vettes. But the only transmission available in the Hertz models will be an 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters; the car’s optional 7-speed manual won’t be offered.
