Harman International Industries Inc. and Airbiquity Inc. plan to jointly market a cybersecurity platform that combines the two companies' existing technologies.

The partners are demonstrating the integrated platform, which they describe as the first end-to-end intrusion detection system for connected vehicles, this week at the TU-Automotive Europe conference in Munich. The platform teams Harman's in-vehicle system with Airbiquity's cloud-based Choreo service and software/data management technology.

Harman's embedded Ecushield software, which the company acquired earlier this year when it purchased Ann Arbor, Mich.-based TowerSec, detects and logs security events. Airbiquity will aggregate information in the cloud and automate alerts and reports so customers can quickly assess and execute corrective actions, according to the partners. This includes over-the-air vehicle software updates to restore impacted systems and mitigate future threats.
