Great Wall Motor Co. tells Bloomberg News it now hopes to resume deliveries of its troubled Haval H8 SUV in China as soon as January.

Great Wall publicly introduced the 210,800-yuan ($34,300) top-end vehicle last November. But by January the company said it would delay deliveries for three months to remedy eight "significant" operational problems that included poor brake pedal feel and overly boosted power steering.

Great Wall began taking orders in April. But it quickly postponed deliveries again, this time to fix a high-speed transmission noise. Chairman Wei Jianjun tells Bloomberg the company has been working with ZF Friedrichshafen AG to resolve a rear-axle problem on the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Wei tells reporters, the company intends to meet world quality and performance and quality standards for all cars and SUVs it makes.
