Going Once... Online Auction Site Targets Classic Cars

Mycarquest.com, an independent site devoted to classic cars, has added an online auction service.

Sellers can list their vehicles on the site for $250 without having to give up control of the process as typically is the case with in-person auctions and dealer consignments, according to the Web site. Buyers must confirm a viable credit card before submitting a bid.

Classic car enthusiast and blogger Mike Gulett founded mycarquest.com in 2010. He says the site has generated $3.4 million in sales over the last two years through vehicle advertisements, and expects to grow the total considerably with the addition of the auction function.
