General Motors Co.’s GMC unit rolled out its Sierra 1500 All Terrain X pickup truck today at the Houston auto show.
The new special-edition model builds on GMC’s recently launched All Terrain line, which includes 4-wheel drive with an Eaton locking rear differential, a Z71 off-road suspension, spray-on bed liner, integrated inclinometer and tinted chrome accents.
Additional features for the new All Terrain X model include a retuned 5.3-liter V-8 with a performance exhaust system that provides a throatier note and boosts output by 3% to 365 hp. The X package also features special off-road Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT mud-terrain-rated tires on 18-inch black aluminum wheels.
Other goodies include side steps, a bed-mounted sport bar, LED headlights and body-colored moldings. GMC says styling is the biggest influence on Sierra customers.
The Sierra All Terrain X is due to launch this spring. Pricing hasn’t been announced. The regular all-terrain package adds about $4,000 to the cost of a Sierra SLT pickup.
