General Motors Co. will begin to recall 69,000 vans, pickup trucks and SUVs next month to fix defects that could allow the vehicles to roll away after being parked. About 55,000 of the units, most of them not yet sold, are in the U.S.
The campaign involves 2013 models of the Cadillac Escalade SUV; Chevrolet Avalanche and Silverado pickups, Suburban and Tahoe SUVs and Express cargo vans; and GMC Sierra pickups, Savana vans and Yukon SUVs.
GM estimates about 7,000 of those vehicles were built with ignition interlock flaws that allow them to be shifted out of park even after the ignition key is removed.
