General Motors Co. plans to recall 367,800 of its 2013-model Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain SUV/crossovers in the U.S. to replace windshield wiper systems that could fail.
GM says ball joints in the wiper mechanism could corrode, separate from their sockets and causing one or both wipers to stop functioning. One of the company’s brand quality managers in Canada reported the issue through GM’s Speak Up for Safety program, according to GM.
The timing for the recall remains undetermined because GM says it hasn’t yet verified a remedy for the flaw.
