GM Shuffles Global Design Executives
General Motors Co. has appointed David Lyon to take over as vice president of design for GM Europe on Aug. 1.
General Motors Co. has appointed David Lyon to take over as vice president of design for GM Europe on Aug. 1. He will be based in Russelsheim, Germany.
Lyon, 43, currently is brand champion for GM's Buick and GMC marques and executive director for North American interiors and global cross-brand design. He succeeds Mark Adams, who has been named executive director for global Cadillac and Buick design in Warren, Mich.
Lyon is past executive director of GM Asia-Pacific Design, where he headed teams that developed such Chevrolet models as the Cruze, Sonic and Spark. He also helped develop the interior and exteriors of concepts and production vehicles for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Holden, including the Chevrolet Volt and Corvette and concept versions of the Buick Enclave, LaCrosse, Riviera and Verano cars and crossovers.
GM also named Ken Parkinson to be executive director of global Chevrolet and GMC design. He currently is Chevrolet brand champion and executive director of North American exterior design and global architecture strategy.
GM has appointed Clay Dean to the new position of director, global advanced design. He currently is director of North American advanced design and brand champion for Cadillac.
