General Motors Co. has replaced its human resources chief and is looking for a new head of public relations.
GM says its top HR and PR managers, Melissa Howell and Selim Bingol, left the company to pursue other interests.
Howell has been replaced by John Quattrone, currently executive director of human resources. GM hasn't named a new PR chief to succeed Bingol.
GM says the changes reflect the desire of new CEO Mary Barra to select her own senior staff and are not related to the company's deepening travails surrounding its belated recall of 2.6 million vehicles with defective ignition switches.
