General Motors Co. is preparing to call back 468,900 of its 2011-2012 model Chevrolet Malibu sedans in North America to replace front seatbelt anchor cables that could break, rendering the seatbelts useless.

The campaign is GM's largest so far in 2015. Last year the company recalled 1.5 million crossover vehicles to fix a similar problem. That global campaign included 2009-2010 Saturn Outlook and 2009-2014 Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia models.

Separately, GM is recalling 52,900 of its 2015 model Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks to repair seat frame anchors that weren't installed correctly. The assembly error could allow the seats to come loose.
