GM, PSA Choose Four Joint Vehicle Projects

The General Motors-PSA Peugeot Citroen alliance says it is launching four product development projects and will begin introducing jointly developed models in 2016.
The vehicles will be sold in Europe and unspecified other regions.
The alliance, which was formed at the end of February, offered no details about the programs beyond these descriptions:
- A compact van for Opel/Vauxhall and compact crossover vehicle for Peugeot
- A small MPV for Opel/Vauxhall and Citroen
- An unspecified number of midsize cars for all four brands
- An ultra-low-emission small-vehicle platform for all four brands
GM and PSA reiterate that they expect that the projects, coupled with joint purchasing and logistics efforts, will save $2 billion per year within five years.
