GM Posts Record June and First-Half Sales in China

General Motors Co. and its joint ventures report a record 246,100 retail sales of vehicles in China in June 2015. Retail volume through the first six months of the year rose a relatively modest 4% to 1.72 million units.
Buick sales grew 4% to a record 436,200 units in January-June. Demand for Chevrolet-brand vehicles advanced 1% to 317,400. Deliveries of the domestic Baojun brand tripled to 159,500 vehicles.
GM says results were driven by an 83% jump to 148,100 units in sales of its SUV/crossover models.
