GM Posts Another Record Sales Year in China
General Motors Co. and its partners sold nearly 3.2 million vehicles in China last year, up 11% from the previous record in 2012.

Sales by the company's SAIC-GM-Wuling venture rose 10% to 1.6 million units. Shanghai GM sold 1.5 million vehicles, up 14%. Both totals were records. The company's FAW-GM commercial truck partnership increased its sales 6% to 59,000 units.
Demand for GM's Buick models in China grew 16% to 809,900 units in 2013. Chevrolet sales advanced 9% to 652,100 units. Cadillac's volume surged by two-thirds to 50,000 sedans and crossovers.
GM ventures in China exported a combined 83,000 vehicles two-thirds of them the Chevrolet Sail small sedan to emerging markets last year compared with 77,200 units in 2012.
GM says it added seven new or updated models in China in 2013 and now markets its cars through nearly 4,300 dealerships in the country.
