The company tells the newspaper it is preparing a business case for the $88 million expansion, which would create about 300 jobs related to engine and transmission development. The GM Powertrain complex currently employs about 3,500 people.
Pontiac has already approved a matching 12-year tax abatement plan for the project, according to AN.
