GM Opens Second IT Innovation Center

General Motors Co. is opening the second of four information technology innovation centers, this one in Warren, Mich.

The new facility will eventually employ 1,500 people. GM launched the first such center in Austin, Tex., last month.

The facilities are part of GM plan to bring 90% of its IT services in-house within five years. The company says the mission of the centers is to create new capabilities to cut costs, boost performance and deliver more innovation to its customers.
