GM Names New Corporate Secretary

Jill Sutton has been appointed corporate secretary and deputy general counsel for General Motors Co. to handle corporate, finance and strategic transactions.

The deputy general counsel position is new at GM. Sutton, 43, is a past general counsel for restaurant chains Tim Hortons Inc. and Wendy's International. At GM, she reports to Craig Glidden, an executive vice president and GM's general counsel.

Sutton holds a law degree, master of health administration and B.A., all from Ohio State University.
