GM Names Chief Diversity Officer
General Motors Co. has appointed retired U.S.
General Motors Co. has appointed retired U.S. Navy Capt. Kenneth Barrett to the newly created post of chief diversity officer.
The company did not describe Barrett s duties. He will report to human relations chief Cynthia Brinkley.
Until joining GM, Barrett was acting director for the Dept. of Defense's Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity in Washington, D.C. He received numerous national awards in his previous job as the Navy's diversity director.
