General Motors Co. says it will invest $439 million to update its Chevrolet Corvette factory in Bowling Green, Ky.

The investment will be used to build a new high-tech paint shop over the next two years. The 450,000-sq-ft installation will include advanced robotic painters, more efficient baking ovens and LED lighting for final inspection.

The Bowling Green project is part of the three-year, $5.4 billion initiative GM announced in April to update its facilities across the U.S.
