The fund set up to offer compensation for victims of General Motors Co.'s defective ignition switches has added four fatalities and seven more injury claims to its eligibility list.
The tally now stands at 104 eligible fatalities and 179 injuries requiring hospitalization. The fund also has approved 12 offers for people who suffered catastrophic injuries in switch-related crashes.
The fund says it is reviewing 495 claims and has ruled as ineligible 2,094 of the 4,342 applications it received before its Jan. 31 cutoff date. The fund expects to complete its work by about the end of July.
