GM Global Sales Up 2% in Third Quarter
General Motors Co. reports worldwide sales of 2.45 million vehicles in July-September its best third quarter in 34 years compared with 2.40 million in the same period last year.

Third-quarter sales in the U.S. and China led the increase with advances of 8% and 14%, respectively. GM's global volume through the first nine months of 2014 rose 2% to 7.37 million cars and light trucks.
Last year GM sold 9.71 million vehicles, ranking third behind Toyota (9.98 million) and Volkswagen (a revised 9.73 million).
