General Motors Co. has added another 11 facilities worldwide to its list of operations that send no waste to landfills.

GM now boasts 122 such manufacturing, office and warehousing facilities. It estimates that avoiding landfill waste has so far reduced its carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions by more than 600,000 metric tons.

The company cuts landfill waste by reducing its use of materials and reusing, recycling or composting where it can.
