General Motors Co. finished last month with its 84th recall of the year: a global campaign to fix 92,200 SUVs and pickup trucks with ignition switches containing an oversized part that could bind.
The recall covers 2011-2013 model Cadillac Escalade SUVs, Chevrolet Avalanche and Silverado pickup trucks, Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe SUVs and GMC Sierra pickups and Yukon SUVs. All but 8,600 vehicles were sold in the U.S.
GM estimates no more than 500 of the recalled switches actually contain the defective part.
