General Motors Co. has named Tim Lee as vice president of global manufacturing, effective immediately.

General Motors Co. has named Tim Lee as vice president of global manufacturing, effective immediately.

Lee succeeds Diana Tremblay, who becomes vice president of North American manufacturing the job she held before taking the global post in December 2009. Tremblay now reports to Lee.

He retains his role as president of GM's International division, which includes China, South Korea and Russia. Lee will continue to report to CEO Dan Akerson.

In his new role, Lee will have worldwide responsible for GM's manufacturing operations, including manufacturing engineering, labor relations, safety and manufacturing planning.
