Ex-Renault Chairman Carlos Ghosn says he will reimburse the Palace of Versailles for costs related to a wedding reception there that had been absorbed by the carmaker.

Renault reported last Thursday that Ghosn has received improper benefit in the rental deal. The company said it would give authorities the results of its investigation into the matter for possible prosecution.

The €50,000 ($57,000) cost of Ghosn’s party had been deducted from Renault’s €575,000 credit for the use of the palace. The company received the credit in exchange for its €2.3 million ($1.6 million) contribution in 2016 toward renovations of the nearly 400-year-old facility.

Bloomberg News notes that Ghosn’s prompt decision to reimburse the chateau contrasts with his rejection of all claims of financial misconduct in Japan. He insists he has been wrongly accused there of financial wrongdoing during his tenure as chairman of Nissan Motor Co.

Ghosn has been jailed in Tokyo since his arrest on Nov. 19. His trial isn’t expected to begin until at least June.
